The film celebrates the irrepressible nature of the human spirit, proving that life is worth fighting for. Led by renowned high altitude mountaineer Chris Warner, the climbers include Doug Ulman, a three-time cancer survivor and former CEO of the LIVESTRONG Foundation; two-time cancer survivor Wendy Chioji, a former major market television news anchor and Ironman triathlete; Bree Sandlin, a breast cancer survivor and Shell Oil executive; Jeremy Jungling, a colon cancer survivor and ultra marathoner; Dr. Robert Masson, a renowned neurosurgeon and leading expert on extreme recovery; and filmmaker Marc Middleton, CEO of Bolder Broadcasting and host of the nationally syndicated Growing Bolder television series.
Conquering Kilimanjaro is a must-see film for every family in America that has been touched by cancer.

This film presents a challenging real-life adventure and an inspiring metaphor, brought to life through four cancer survivor stories. Cancer and life’s trials seem insurmountable. Then you get help, you set your mind to it, you do your best — and you surprise yourself. The mountain-climbing team’s lives intersect, and their determination and love lead them to victory. A beautiful, moving documentary that will make you ask, “Can I do that?”

An absolutely inspiring and amazing film. It really captured not only the experience and thrill of the climb itself, but captured the emotion, love, compassion and survivor’s attitude of all the members of the climb. Beautiful.

“Conquering Kilimanjaro” is a fantastic awe inspiring film. It depicts the huge struggles the incredible efforts that several cancer survivors had to go through to reach the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. It shows how they did it as a team with love and caring for each other. It shows that they had to be and were their brothers and sisters keepers. Yes, this emmy deserving and Oscar deserving film will bring tears to your eyes. There will be tears of sadness for the pain that those afflicted with cancer had to go through during their struggle with cancer. However, there will also be many tears of happiness for their conquering this dreaded disease. Their climbing Kilimanjaro is to show the rest of us that if they can climb one of the highest mountains in the world with the pain that they had to go through that we too can also conquer our “kilimanjaro.” It showed us time and again that life is truly beautiful. That life is worth living to its utmost each hour of every day. That you never give up no matter what the odds against you may be. I congratulate all of those responsible for making this awesome film that should be watched by all of humanity.

Not only was this an amazing story of Kilimanjaro and the spectacular climb, but it was a heartfelt story of all who made the journey. I really loved meeting the climbers, and getting to know each of them. It made watching them make the climb so much more personable. I found myself rooting for them, laughing and crying with them, and cheering them on at the end. This film was amazing, and I’m proud to have been able to see it.
